At any rate, back to the paper route. As I said, when we started out it was warm and sunny, and Timmy and I were both bold and naive enough to go out with our shorts and t-shirts on. Timmy suggested that we ride our bicycles, since the entire route was approximately 4.7362 miles long, and if we walked it we'd still be delivering papers at sunrise the next morning, which wouldn't make the customers very happy. All in all there were 32 customers on the route, which extended all the way from Reverend Cole's house on lower Maine Street on one side of town to Old Lady Stanwick's, which was almost half-way to South Berwick.
