As we pedaled along, Timmy would give me hints and tips, such as what time to go by the Adams' house so that I could deliver the paper while their German Shepherd, Killer, was eating his dinner so he wouldn't chase after me. Timmy said it had cost him three new tires on his bicycle before he finally learned his lesson, so just to prove that his twenty-dollar charge for the paper route wasn't unreasonable, he said that he'd already saved me eight dollars and ninety-seven cents, plus tax, on the cost of three new bicycle tires.
